Thank you for your interest in becoming the next Chief Executive of FOSFA International.
FOSFA is a distinctive organisation with a long history and a highly respected role in global trade. For more than 150 years, we have supported the international oils, fats and oilseeds sector through the provision of contracts, standards, arbitration and specialist knowledge. Our work may not always be visible to the wider public, but it underpins confidence, consistency and trust across a significant proportion of global trade.
Today, FOSFA stands at an important point in its development. We are proud of our heritage and the strength of our reputation, but we are equally focused on the future. Our members operate in a changing world, shaped by new markets, shifting supply chains, evolving regulation, sustainability expectations and the increasing need for clear, trusted mechanisms for international trade. FOSFA has an important role to play in that landscape.
The next Chief Executive will help us build on strong foundations while ensuring that FOSFA remains relevant, influential and responsive to the needs of its members across the world. This will require thoughtful leadership, sound judgement and the ability to work effectively with Council, members, committees, staff and external partners. It will also require someone who can combine respect for the organisation’s traditions with the confidence to modernise where needed.
This is a role with both depth and breadth. The successful candidate will lead a small, specialist organisation, support a complex member-led governance structure, and represent FOSFA to a highly international membership. They will need to bring credibility, curiosity and the ability to build relationships across different cultures, markets and professional communities.
We are not looking for a single fixed profile. Candidates may come from membership bodies, trade associations, international trade, commodities, professional services, arbitration, standards, regulation or another relevant environment.
What matters most is the ability to understand FOSFA’s importance, earn the confidence of its members, and lead the organisation with clarity, integrity and ambition
